An Affair in the offing?

He fell in love with her golden hair,
Which played naughtily in the air!

She suddenly looked so very fair!
Sitting quietly in her sleek chair.

They would make a lovely pair!
He could rely on his inner flair.

But such a sudden stormy affair,
Might make his good wife despair!

It might really be very unfair,
Tarnishing him beyond repair.

It might his name and fame impair,
And push him down from the stair.
