A jailbird

A Jailbird!

He was sent to the jail,
She tried to get his bail;

She did her best to hail
Her lawyer, but did fail;

Her face resembled a kail,
Her tears filled up a pail;

She could not even mail,
His fate was under a nail;

She wished he had set assail,
And wisely tucked in his tail;

And not talked to the law rail!
Alas! Now she could only wail!
